UBIQ Sidetable Cassina IXC. (Japan)

Furniture Design / Co-designed with Beat Glässer

UBIQ multi table was developed jointly between Scazziga, Beat Glässer  and CASSINA IXC. of Japan, based on a study about digital technologies invading our lives and what it could mean in terms of furniture design. UBIQ addresses a variety of contemporary issues and resolves them by a radical rethinking of the product category.

There is a drawer included, much as one would find in a night stand, for small things around the house that need an easy-to-remember place.

Below the drawer, light is available, to allow for a comfortable ambient lighting experience. The top part of UBIQ can swivel and is height adjustable with a simple mechanism.

UBIQ is great for using projectors around the home or office and was featured during the original launch of the SONY Qualia line of avant-garde home electronics in Japan.

There's features a magazine/book rack at the end, suitable to keep the latest reading material handy. Within the rack, there is a hidden household current power outlet to facilitate charging of laptops, celphones and the like.
